MediaTek expects to roll out later this month its newest Helio P70 mobile system on a chip. Wherein, the chipset is built a 12nm process of technology.

According to industry sources, the Taiwan-based mobile chipset manufacturer aims to maintain the shipment momentum of its mobile processor. Thus, the sources indicate that the configurations of the Helio P70 will likely the same with the previous Helio P60. Wherein, it has consisted of four Cortex-A73 cores. And also, four Cortex-A53 cores that pairs with a Mali-G72 Graphics Processing Unit (GPU).

What is the difference between the MediaTek Helio P60 and MediaTek Helio P70
The major difference is that the Helio P60 comes out with a discrete Accelerated Processing Unit (APU) comparison to a discrete Neutral Processing Unit (NPU) that is in Helio P70.
However, the P60 has had been competing with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 in the mobile application processor market. But, the sources notes, that the Helio P70 is believed to take on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710.
Moreover to the outlined launch of Helio P70, it does also kick off the volume production of its 7nm Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC). Wherein, it was built using its own silicon-proven 56G PAM4 SerDes IP based on a 7nm FinFET process. This will happen by the end of 2018, as Jerry Yu, VP and General Manager of the intelligent devices group at MediaTek says.
Nevertheless, the market sources tell that the 7nm Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) was reportedly cut into the supply chains of the world’s two leading game console makers.
