There are many advanced and astonishing inventions that take place in the running century. However, in all of these, the internet is probably the most innovative and useful of all.
The importance of the internet cannot be denied. It is the best way for people to communicate with each other even if they are from the opposing side of the world as well as providing any kinds of information you are looking for.

The internet has come a long way over the last few decades. In the year 1995, fewer than 1 percent of the world’s population only had the chance to access the Internet. Today, however, the internet is used by more than 40 percent of the global population.
The growth of internet usage is indeed nothing short of phenomenal. In the year 2005, the world boast 1 billion internet users and doubles in the next five years. And in the year 2014, it easily reached 3 billion internet users.
Although the internet is continuously seeing higher demands every day, the global broadband penetration, however, is pretty much lopsided. Seventy-five percent of world wide web users only come from 20 countries. Vast regions like the African continent and much of South America have really low internet penetration.
Most countries have large numbers of internet users such as India and China, however, in terms of internet speed, they still have a really long way to go as far as internet speed is concerned.
But, did you ever wonder which country has the fastest internet speed in the world?
The World Broadband Speed League tracked broadband speeds in 200 countries over a 12-month period from June 2017 to May 2018. According to their findings, Singapore boasts the fastest internet connections in the whole wide world. The internet speed of Singapore is 5 times faster than the global average of 9.1 Mbps, boasting 60.39 megabits per seconds!
All of the top 4 countries— Singapore and the 3 Scandinavian countries— share the same technology. Each of these countries invested in pure fiber tech, also known as FTTP, in order to bring extremely fast internet speeds to their citizen.
The report noted that even though Singapore already have the fastest broadband speeds on the world, Singapore is still working in order to improve the tech by adding infrastructure such as fiber in order to boost the speed even more while cutting prices for basic services in order to attract subscribers.
